The Environment Minister David Milliband has announced that Al Gore’s film “An Inconvenient Truth” is to be shown in all secondary schools [more detail here].

While i haven’t seen the film yet, i’ve heard many positive things about it, and its on the “to-hire” list, and if its that good, may go on the “to-buy” list. along with a gazillion and one other things [sorry but when it comes down to spending with the available pennies, garden equipment/seeds take priority over movies]. But it strikes me that while this may be a good thing on the surface, it may also be a bad thing. i mean.. teenagers? with their need to rebel against society they’re more likely to turn into rabid consumerists and litterlouts. (yes, even more than they already are).

I can’t help but think that they might be better off showing it to 9-11 year olds. before they turn into ‘orrible teenagers. unless the film is that dark, of course. I’ve no idea what the classification rating is.
