…. and don’t come back till washing day!*” if i didn’t think autumn had already arrived yesterday, then today was proof indeed… its been very very changeable weather today. When i set out to walk Jess this morning, for example, when we left the house it was bright sunshine. Not 2 minutes later, it was like someone had flipped the shower switch, raining heavily, so heavily my coat was almost soaked through by the time i got back from the morning walk.

Still, its given me an opportunity to take some lovely photos (I’m really loving having Mom’s Olympus to play with, a 300 mju, which also does short videos. I’ve taken a few of Jess, but they’re really dark so i’m hoping to find some video editing software that will allow me to lighten them before i upload them) which of course i want to share. And, since its the 1st October, i thought it was time for a new header; so i’ve adapted one of today’s photos along with a new haiku. Enjoy!

I know i said i wasnt going to repeat any photos from last year but i couldnt resist. i do love the changing of the leaves...

... but this shot and the next one really illustrate how fast the weather was changing, as there was barely 20 seconds between shots - just enough time for the camera to save the photo it had taken and me to snap another one.

all kinds of debris gets caught up when theres this much rain, swirling down the road to the nearest drain, which rapidly overflow or get blocked up.

* It seems, from reading the wikipedia entry linked to this, that my memory of the words to the nursery rhyme is faulty, but this is how i remember it so this is what i use….
