I’ve been working the last couple of days with FIMO, to make some intented, patterned pieces that can be attached to cards. I’ve quite a few, now, enough that i can get on with making cards with them.. my biggest problem, as i said before, is running out of double sided sticky tape! Still, i’ll get some more on thursday. For now though, i’ve made 2 cards  with the FIMO pieces to see how they hold up, and its these i’m sharing here, behind the cut below, of course.

There’s a new header to the blog to celebrate November, of course. That’s a photo of last year’s local bonfire that i took, along with the customary Guy Fawkes rhyme. Obviously my focus at the moment is christmas – between cards and presents, i’m not getting much else done. Sewing, apart from xmas related sewing, has been put to one side. The weight loss tho’, is going quite well. This morning’s weigh in meant that i’ve lost almost a stone and a half since July, so i’m pleased with that. the bills are remaining mostly under control too, which is good. I’ve no desire to let the gas/electric get out of control!! its not been too cold yet (apart from a cold snap last week) so that’s helping quite a lot.

The garden was getting out of control at one point, but with the winter weather hitting in, a lot of the plants have died back. Michiel’s kind of taken over: he’s dug up beds 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9, the ones that rotate (i.e. not the one under the tree or the fruit bed), so they’re looking better. (I must take some photos at some point). once christmas has passed, if we’re still here, then i can look at and consider next season. I’ve still loads of seeds so i’m not expecting to have to buy a lot if anything. One thing i have decided though is to keep making small stuff, whether cards or gifts, and to build up a sort of stock not only of cards but of gifts, so there’ll be less panic when it comes to making things. i hope, anyway!

Anyway: dinner tonight is lamb & borlotti bean casserole with cherry tomatoes (the last of the ones from the garden), and i’m going to make some bread as well. best get on with it!!
