…. bit late! Michiel called me last night around 8pm, when i was cooking dinner (a simple spag bol), told me to grab my camera and told me to go outside. Mystified, i followed him. It became clear once we were out there – it was snowing! Very soft, very very fine, almost powdery dry snow, but it was snowing, and it was definetly cold enough to stick. I took a few photos, but some youths around outside made him shoo me back inside, so i scooted back to warmth and safety.

Our NYE was quiet. We were praying for quietness: Manchester City Council was holding a big fireworks event in city centre, and we think all the youths went there. Either way, its been quiet now for the last few nights.. just pray.. *touch wood*.. that it lasts. We cracked open a bottle of sparkling wine at midnight, toasted each other, said happy new year to our parents, then just enjoyed what remained of the night with each other. Best way to be. 🙂

This morning though, the snow hadn’t melted (much), so i grabbed the camera again. Are you really surprised? Best of the bunch behind the cut, the rest on flickr, as per usual. Enjoy!!

taken around 8pm. That mist you can see is not mist, its very dry, fine snow. And yes, thats Michiel you can see there.

still rhapsodising about this camera.. i tried multiple times in the freeze at the beginning of dec to get a shot of this fungus with mums camera, but it just would not want to focus properly. This camera - no problem! does it first time!!
